EVANSTON, IL - Standing in line at Starbucks with an acquaintance from class, meteorology major Dennis Huffman used his mastery of weather patterns and atmospheric phenomena to facilitate a thorough conversation on the day’s weather. “I was expecting some shallow, effortless chitchat about the snow, but he just started pulling out all these graphs,” said fellow classmate Rodney Chang, who struggled to keep up with the conversation when it turned to air density and wind vectors. Delving into a highly detailed description of the precipitation patterns for the upcoming week, Huffman successfully alienated Chang from what could have been a very bland and manageable conversation. “People say to me ‘Crazy weather, right?’ but really, with El Nińo weather patterns coming in from the West, these erratic changes in the atmosphere are expected,” Huffman told reporters. “I mean, duhhh, of the weather’s gonna be crazy.” A jubilant Huffman was later seen absolutely dominating the conversation in his dentist’s waiting room.
