Christians Apologize to Gay Person

This week marked a huge milestone in the egos of Christians around the world as Pope Francis called upon them to apologize to all gays and lesbians for the hardships they have put them through in the past. For many Christians, these apologies will come in the form of silent prayer. But, as one gay teenager and Utah resident can attest, some Christians like to make things a little more personal.

“I always knew tons of Christians at school…but I never realized that’s why they were bullying me. I always thought they were just ignorant!” Jason Kennedy reports that the day after Pope Francis’ announcement, the Christian apologies started flooding in.

“First it was Christian Thompson, who I oddly remember always being really nice to me throughout grade school,” says Kennedy. “And then Christian Lopez, who actually defended me from bullies in 7th grade. It was very strange. Then Christian Fournier, who called me a f****t freshman year, came to my door with flowers...which honestly was kind of gay.”

Kennedy, 18, says he never expected such an outpouring of kindness from such a random, specific group of people.

Kennedy remarked that though these apologies felt random, the Christians nonetheless seemed to think their actions were groundbreaking and impressive. Now,he's left wondering what's next: "I hope the Pope tells the Kevins to apologize next. Kevin Charleston was so mean to me in the gym locker room."
