Why Lincoln Chafee was the Hero We Needed but Didn’t Deserve

74th Governor and previous Senator of Rhode Island, Author of world renowned book, Against the Tide, Father of 3, Brown University Graduate with sensual blue eyes and a smile that says, “If your hamster died of brain cancer I would hold you in my arms until the pain went away”. You guessed it, I’m talking about the one and only Lincoln Davenport Chafee. The gray-haired beauty was a candidate in the presidential election of 2016. Sadly, the democrat didn’t receive the nomination. He didn’t make it very far at all, in fact. Tragic.

Our country didn’t realize who we were losing. The man, even as a republican was pro-choice and for same- sex marriage. More importantly, have you looked at his eyes? It is impossible not get lost in them. Blue and deep as the ocean, they hold secrets that you never knew you wanted to know.

Anyway, the gorgeous figure of Lil ol’ Lincky boy is one that we all cannot resist, but by the time we noticed it, it was too late.

While he was quiet, and seemingly timid, it was charming and cute. In every debate he was polite, kind and spoke in his mesmerizing voice. His blue eyes would stare into your soul at every response. You became his at every glance. You would do anything Lincoln asked. I mean anything.

He was a hero: a hero in disguise, and our inability to recognize this fact demonstrates that we have failed this country. We didn’t deserve him, which is why we don’t have him.

I guess the saying, “if you love someone, let them go” applies here, but I just cannot. Thank you Lincoln, you’ve honored us with your presence.
