Move Over, Sig Chi Latvia. Here Comes Phi Delt Winnetka!
While we all can appreciate some good Borscht, Kvass, and Soviet-era rock songs, your favorite “different” fraternity is hosting an event for a group of people we all know and love. Who, you may ask?
The kids who insist they didn’t use ANY connections to get in. The kids who say, “I know him from high school.” The kids who say Northwestern is the perfect distance from home: 20 minutes down the road. The kids who came to NU to stay close to their dad’s consulting firm. The kids who always pay for the Uber. You might know them already: they’re the kids from Winnetka.
Yes, next week, the biggest party of the year is happening: Phi Delt Winnetka. Wanna get in? Sherman Ave has got you: the secret code is “I’m from the Northern suburbs.”
Phi Delt social chair, theatre major, and LGBT icon Arlen Moore spoke to us about the event: “Northwestern’s biggest cultural group, the North Shore kids, don’t get enough respect around here. They have it, like, really tough. We thought we should have a night in their honor. . Honestly, I wish we could just make a shrine to them. We also know that half of the kids here are from Winnetka or somewhere in that neck of the woods, so like, it’ll be a hit. You know the Naperville kids will just show up anyways”.
Throughout the event, there will be Deloitte representatives available for interviews and someone’s Winnetka mom leading a spin class. Maybe she’ll even provide homemade chicken breasts, rumor has it. In short, this event will be dripping in culture.
The cover? $20, of course. If you are truly immersed in Winnetka culture, this should not be an issue.
