Morty Posts Vlog for “We Will” Kickstarter Campaign Reach Goal
EVANSTON, IL—To celebrate surpassing $3 billion on the Kickstarter page for Northwestern’s “We Will” campaign Wednesday evening, president Morty Shapiro released a video blog to backers, thanking them for their support of the fundraising effort.
The video, which shows Shapiro in his Evanston home, was published when the campaign reached the landmark goal. “I couldn’t have done this without each and every one of you,” Morty says in the video. “I wanted to put together this video to show all of you out there in Cat Nation what 3 billion dollars means to me. Let’s get some Kitty Love going for surpassing the GDP of the Maldives!”
Shapiro made good on his promise to perform a cover of the Twenty One Pilots song Can’t Help Falling In Love if the campaign reached the goal, strumming his ukulele and singing to the webcam. “This song is about how I feel toward each and every one of you who donated millions of dollars,” Shapiro added. “Keep the donate-train going! Another 400 million and our largest donors receive a signed tote bag!”
