Confusing: Katniss Everdeen and Andy Dwyer are in a Movie Together?

We’ve heard of some crazy crossovers, but this one’s out of this world!

Passengers, a movie coming out December 21st, features two characters we love: Katniss from The Hunger Games and Andy from Parks and Recreation.

…Yep, you read that right. Katniss, the fierce female warrior from the book and movie franchise, is teaming up with Andy, the lovable dope from the hit NBC comedy. And the craziest part? Nothing about the movie seems to match the characters we know and love.

From the trailer, we can gather a few crucial differences from the original Katniss and Andy:

1. Bullseye?
   Katniss doesn’t seem to be into archery anymore—there’s no bow and arrow in sight! Not to mention her hair is blonde now. Before, it was brown. What am I supposed to make of this?

2. Promotion?
   Looks like Andy’s moving up in the world, as he’s clearly no longer a shoe-shiner. In fact, the trailer shows him tinkering with a fancy robot. Perhaps he could build a shoe-shining robot? I’m stumped.

3. Welcome…home?
   Obviously, Katniss and Andy are from totally different places. But now it looks like they’ve both moved into a brand new house, and get this: it’s a big twisty metal thing that floats in the sky! Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for modern architecture, but how can either character afford this??

4. Laurence Fishburne?!
   In the later part of the trailer, we get a glimpse of something curious: Oscar-nominated actor Laurence Fishburne. What’s the plan here? Maybe Fishburne is the character that has brought Katniss and Andy together. Or maybe he is playing himself, and Passengers is a documentary about Laurence Fishburne’s obsession with crossover fan-fiction. Either way, Laurence Fishburne will be there, and I’m fine with that.

5. Scandal!
   Look, I get that every movie needs romance. But could the people who made this trailer have some discretion? There’s a shot of Katniss and Andy MAKING OUT. What about April Ludgate? What about that poor baker, Peeta? The producers must know this affair will crush millions of fans.

What other surprises are waiting? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.  All I know is, I’ll be heavily analyzing both series to find any clues pointing to what Passengers holds for us. Pop the popcorn!
